Alexander T. (Doctor G) Gedevanishvili, MD
Dr. Alexander Gedevanishvili, "Doctor G," received his medical degree in 1988 through Tbilisi State Medical University in Tbilisi, Georgia. He then completed his residency in 1990 through the Department of Internal Medicine at Tbilisi's City Hospital #1 and his fellowship in Cardiology in 1992 through Tbilisi's Institute for Advanced Medical Training.
Dr. Gedevanishvili worked as a staff cardiologist with City Hospital #1 from 1993 to 1997. He was a visiting fellow in 1993 with the Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif., as well as a medical intern and medical resident with the Emory University School of Medicine between 1997 and 2000 before training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, for Cardiac CT, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography between 2000 and 2003. He was an assistant professor of Cardiology with the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2004.
He joined as a cardiologist and director of West Georgia Medical Center's Echocardiography Laboratory in 2004. He serves on the staff of West Georgia Cardiology, which provides prompt new patient cardiac evaluations; in-office stress tests and echocardiograms; advanced imaging in the hospital with 3D-TEE (trans-esophageal echocardiography), cardiac MRI and coronary CT; and continued hospital care of new and established patients.
Dr. Gedevanishvili is Board Certified Diplomate in Internal and Cardiovascular Medicine as a through the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as a Diplomate of the board of Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
He is a member of the Society of Cardiac Computed Tomography and a fellow with the American College of Cardiology.
