Wassim Mchayleh, MD, MBA, FACP
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology, Dr. Wassim Mchayleh completed his medical training at St. Joseph University School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon, and his residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He also completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and received specialized training in the treatment of Leukemia at the University of Texas: M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare management from Ohio University in 2016.
Dr. Mchayleh is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
He works with medical oncology patients throughout their cancer journey including cancer diagnosis, treatment, chemotherapy and blood disorders. Dr. Mchayleh treats all types of cancer including lung, breast, colon, prostate and ovarian cancer. He served an assistant professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Dr. Mchayleh brings his expertise to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center as its Medical Director of Oncology Services. In this role, Dr. Mchayleh ensures that WGMC's multifaceted cancer program continues to achieve clinical excellence and meet the rigorous care standards established by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
